About Us

JumpStart Music Lessons are an introduction to a musical education.  The purpose is to teach basic concepts that will "jump start" your child's love and appreciation of music, as well as musical career, by having already learned about notes, tone, rhythm, listening, and instrument recognition.  Preschool age children will learn these musical concepts that are reinforced through coloring, dancing, singing songs, playing games, and other hands-on activities. The curriculum has been developed and tested through years of music teaching experience and in coordination with the manual, Music Appreciation for Children, by Dianne Hardy.

 

Aubrie Johnson (Herriman)

Hi, I'm Aubrie, and I've been playing the piano for over 25 years.  I studied music and pedagogy with the world renown artist and composer, Mary Gae George.  Since starting my most favorite job of being a mom, I wanted music in my home.  It has been important to me for my girls to learn, appreciate, and enjoy the musical world around them.  It continually amazes me how fast young kids can pick up, understand, and apply musical concepts when they are introduced early on before other distractions arise.  I've been teaching piano for four years and I have loved every second of it.  I am overwhelmed with how much kids of all ages can grow and develop through music.  I love music and I can't wait to share my love and passion with your kids too!


Amanda Horrocks (St. George)

Hi, I’m Amanda. Music has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I first began studying when I was just 6 years old, taking private lessons for several years and eventually spent two years studying music at Snow College. The more I learned, the more I realized that I wanted to share my passion for music with others. I began teaching piano lessons from my home but wanted to be able to do more. Eventually, with the help of my friends and family JumpStart Music Lessons was born. My hope is that JumpStart Music Lessons will provide a solid foundation for your preschool age children to develop the same passion for music that I enjoy!
